Solis Chronic Pain Clinic key services

At Solis, we focus on patient education, understanding and clear expectations about chronic pain.

The six pillars of chronic pain management: medication, lifestyle changes, psychological intervention, physical therapy, injectable interventions and spirituality

We use the six pillars of chronic pain management to help guide treatment. Most plans use more than one pillar at a time, matched to what is driving your pain.

  • Medication
  • Lifestyle changes
  • Psychological intervention
  • Physical therapy
  • Injectable interventions
  • Spirituality

Injectable treatments at our Edmonton pain clinic

Before any injection, eat a light meal and drink water. For your safety, we do not inject when you have an active infection. Book your follow-up before you leave the clinic.

Pain we treat every day

Patients come to the clinic with pain that has already outlasted rest, tablets and time.

  • Back and neck pain that has not settled with home care
  • Sciatica and nerve pain that travels into an arm or leg
  • Chronic migraine and tension headaches
  • Myofascial pain and stubborn muscle knots
  • Arthritis pain in the spine and joints
  • Pain after a motor vehicle accident

Heel or arch pain that keeps coming back? Read our chronic foot pain guide.

Treat the driver, not just the ache

Every plan starts with a physician looking for your pain generator: nerve, joint, muscle, or a tangle of all three. Treatment then matches the driver. Nerve pain gets nerve directed care, muscle knots get released, and inflamed joints get calmed.

Chronic pain also changes sleep, mood and movement, so a plan can reach past the needle. Massage can settle muscle guarding, and follow-up checks whether the treatment actually helped.

Pain clinic FAQs

Do I need a referral to the pain clinic?

No. You can book directly. If your family doctor sends a referral, bring it along with any imaging reports and your medication list, so the clinician can build on the work already done.

What happens at the first visit?

A full pain history, a hands-on exam and a plain explanation of what is driving your pain. Come 15 to 20 minutes early to fill out forms, including some pain assessment tools.

Will I get an injection at the first visit?

That depends on what the assessment finds and whether an injection is appropriate that day. Injections are one of the six pillars, not the whole plan. Read the chronic pain guide for what the assessment itself covers.

How soon can I get an appointment?

Availability changes week to week. Call the clinic for the next opening and ask which records or referrals would help at the first assessment.

Are pain treatments covered by insurance?

Coverage varies by treatment, provider and plan. Ask your insurer about the exact service and provider designation, then confirm current clinic fees and billing options before treatment.
